The star has handed over the complete sum of his £25k award prize money to the trust for venues, which works to save the Britain's grassroots concert spaces.
He was presented with the cheque on October 16 as his new release the album was chosen as the best record of the last 12 months.
The musician has chosen to donate the funds to the trust, in appreciation of the vital role grassroots venues played in his early career.
"I wouldn't be doing this success if it wasn't for all the gigs I did around the North East, and elsewhere, when I was starting out," stated Sam Fender. "These venues are iconic, but they are facing challenges."
From early 2023 onward, over 150 of these locations have ceased operations – roughly one-sixth of the whole industry in the UK.
Over the past year, well-known musicians like Pulp, the group Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Sheeran have all supported the Music Venues Trust in its efforts to support the industry, by applying a minor surcharge to their ticket costs, which benefits local stages.
Fender also joined in, collecting more than £100,000 on his recent tour to help numerous small stages across the UK.
The donation assisted venues that were dealing with imminent closure due to difficulties caused by floods, fire incidents and bereavements, as well as regulatory hurdles, legal disputes and neighbor objections.
Some locations obtained funding support in improving infrastructure and gear that helped artists and fans.
"The concept that funds from performances in large arenas supports the independent spots, where it all starts for artists like me, is just common sense," the star has stated.
The musician is far from the only musician to contribute his award funds to good deeds.
When they won the award in the mid-90s for their record the album, lead singer the singer declared that the act would give their prize money to the non-profit War Child.
During 2002, musician the artist split her prize across multiple good causes, like the children's charity and a Sickle Cell organization.
"Additionally, I donated a £1,000 to Highgate Newtown, to their classes, because I did gymnastics when I was younger and they needed updated gear," the artist shared with outlets.
In recent years, Ezra Collective donated their winnings to the community center that nurtured their group, in addition to other local music groups.
Additionally winners that year M People donated their award to a charity for MS after a friend was identified with the condition.
"Receiving the award was ample," said vocalist the singer. "The cash was the cherry on top but we didn't require the cherry, because we had the honor. So our winning impacted the lives of others."
In the past week, the trust revealed it had saved several small stages in the South East, by placing them under local control.
One venue in Southampton and the other in the city were acquired under the public acquisition program, which is supported by a national body and enthusiasts who acquire "stakes" in the venues.
